In this week's issue (July 29)
Quite an eventful weekend in Canby, in the middle of the summer.
The annual Canby Rotary Nothing But Net 3 on 3 basketball tournament was held downtown, along with the Junior State Division II baseball state tournament at Canby High School. Meanwhile in Portland, Canby's American Legion AAA baseball team made history by reaching the state tournament for the first time by taking down Lincoln in the playoffs.
All of that will be detailed in this week's issue.
And yes, rodeo time is slowly creeping up again. About three weeks remain until the 103rd Clackamas County Rodeo. Look for coverage of that coming up.

In this week's issue (July 22 edition)
This week in the Canby Herald sports section, you'll find a list of this past spring's graduates from Canby High School and North Marion High School who are off to compete in college.
I'm sure there are several more graduates who I didn't get to, but please e-mail me
here if I didn't get one that you know.
If you read the Herald, you'll find I love to do updates on graduates and past graduates playing in college. It's a nice way to recognize those names from the past and see what they are up to now.
And from the feedback I get about it, it's one of the better received stories that I do.
Also, in this week's issue, you'll get the latest on the Canby and North Marion American Legion AAA baseball teams, as well as a Canby High School graduate who qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur golf tournament.
In the upcoming issues, I plan to have a recap of all of the Canby youth baseball teams as well as continuing the series on the updates of college athletes. If you know any other Canby or North Marion graduates in college, let me know.

Canby Herald Sports Blog Intro
With the introduction of the new Web site, the Canby Herald sports blog hopes to bring readers updates, news and tidbits throughout the school year.
Whether it's updates and photos at a state tournament, a state-playoff game, opinions on what is happening around the local sports area, or simply game notes that I wasn't able to get into the newspaper, we want to bring you that here.
I am hoping that this will take off once fall season begins, so check back to the Canby Herald Web site frequently throughout the school year.
If you have any suggestions on what you want covered or things you'd like to see during the year, e-mail me at
atam@canbyherald.com.
It's a whole new era of news information, and we'll strive to bring you the best coverage of Canby High and North Marion High athletics.
