Aurora Police Department reserve officers Jeff Simmons, left, and Richard Maxwell periodically will patrol city streets on bicycles. Chief Brent Earhart said the bicycle patrols are a valuable public relations tool and can make officers more accessible to citizens.
The Aurora Police Department is trying out some new wheels — two at a time. “We’re going to try and put reserve officers out on bicycles, mostly in the downtown area,” said Chief Brent Earhart.
