Canby man sentenced

William Birhanzl, accused of hiring a hitman to beat a circuit court judge, was given 11 years, eight months in prison for attempted assualt, conspiracy to commit assualt and soliciting a hitman.

A 61-year-old Canby man accused of hiring a hitman to beat a municipal court judge was sentenced to 11 years and eight months in prison Thursday.
